Theology On Tap ...will resume on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 7:30- 9:00 p.m., 252 Howard St. (blue house next to St. Vincent Elementary School): (March 10th - Sex and Love) (April 14th - Why Bad Things Happen to Good People) (May 12th - Women in the Church). Thank you to Vicky Mataragus for the new tool shed and Marie Wayne for the redwood planting table great additions to our growing garden. Plans are in the works for our 3rd section of the garden. We will be building beds with cinder blocks. If there is anyone that has experience with mortaring and would like to help, please call.

Request for Help/Sponsorship
We are going to try this weekly harvest schedule; Sundays 10 to 11a.m. and Wednesdays 10:30 to 11:30am. We will be delivering the veggies to the Petaluma Kitchen and Pat Louks from St. Vincent de Paul. All parishioners are encouraged to help. Anyone that is interested in helping out with this part of the garden project, please call Lois, 763-8467.
We have plans for the 3rd section now and will be on the look out for free dirt to build up the area. If you know of a source please let us know.
Benches:
We are looking for people to help sponsor a project for Tyler Harwood who is doing his Eagle Scout Project by building 6 redwood table and bench sets like the one outside the Parish Hall. We have 4 sponsors and are looking for 2 more.
There are also beautiful teak benches that we are going to place throughout the garden. We have 2 sponsors for those so far. We are also ordering bronze plaques for anyone that makes a donation and would like to mount them in memory of a loved one.
Fruit Trees. We have dozens of fruit trees that still need to be purchased and someone could also make a donation towards them. For prices they can contact me at 763-8467 or my email.
The weather is starting to warm up (when it isn't raining), so we hope to see more of you getting involved in this new ministry. Come alone or bring your family. It's a great way to meet new friends.

Adult Education Those who enjoyed our panel on the season of Lent will enjoy our next Adult Ed session, I'm sure. the subject will be the Triduum (Tri-doo-um). The Triduum is the Latin word for three days commemorating Christ's passion, Death and Resurrection. We celebrate the three days, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter, which are essential to our faith. Please mark your calendar for Monday, March 22nd.
St. James Memorial Garden. Installation of bricks is an on-going project. If you want to honor a family member or friend, living or deceased, please stop by the parish office for a form or call, and we will mail one to you. Also, forms can be found in the back of the church. Deadline is April 15th for turning in the form to request a brick. Bricks will be installed in May or June, depending on the weather.
Knights of Columbus Petaluma Council 1586 Scholarship Applications. KOC will be awarding three $500 scholarships to seniors with plans to attend a college or a university in the fall of 2010. The award is to be used to meet their college expenses. Any senior in good standing who meets the criteria may apply. Scholarship Applications may be picked up and returned to the rectory during normal business hours Monday through Friday. Deadline is April 27, 2010.
VBS Is Back. St. James/St Vincent's Vacation Bible School will be held June 21-25, 2010, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Location and theme will be announced at a later date. Kick-off Registration and Bake Sale after all masses will be on May 1st & 2nd at both St. James and St Vincent's. All volunteers have to be both fingerprinted and take an online class per the instructions from the Diocese of Santa Rosa (no exceptions). Because all volunteers need to be fingerprinted through the Diocese of Santa Rosa, we are beginning registration next week March 8th, at each parish rectory office. To volunteer, you must go to Petaluma Fingerprints, 110, Kentucky St., Petaluma. Phone number is 763-3277. VBS will reimburse you for your cost of being fingerprinted. Also, you must take an online course through the Diocese; info will be attached to registration form. We will have more info in the next two weeks. So mark your calendars, watch the bulletin for updated info, and for any other notices that might be sent home with your child.
